The Coexist House vision
"Significant, brave, fantastic"
Coexist House focus group participant, Muse audience research
COEXIST HOUSE WILL be a place of education and learning; a place to gather and meet; an exhibition centre, a spiritual haven, a place of history, a museum, a media hub, a gallery for art, a platform for music, a stage for congress, seminar, lecture, places to eat and share the endlessly varying culture-related foods. See rich colours and decorative materials, experience scents of citrus and cinnamon, whilst hearing world music and participating in lively debate. Come upon stillness, take reflective moments flying in your imagination to new thoughts and places. Coexist House will be welcomingly hospitable, identifying a home in a dedicated space in the heart of London on a visitors' pathway through the city.
ITS AIM is to establish a world-leading, innovative space, in the heart of London, to increase knowledge of the world's faiths. It will invite celebration of the diversity of the world’s beliefs and religions, engaging the public’s imagination and understanding, establishing and building universal, respectful acceptance.
ITS VISION is of universal communities with greater cultural belief and acceptance, possessing greater familiarity and knowledge of all faiths, through higher and deeper levels of education surrounding the world’s faiths.
ITS PARTICIPATORS will span all ages, faiths, educational backgrounds. The House will be at once a reflective and spiritual space whilst being a proactive, vibrant place of learning and academia. It will be open and accessible to all - people of all faiths and no faith. Programmes for Coexist House will have some focus to enhance the National Curriculum, and will reach out to all school children and teachers as well as undergraduates and scholars..
PROGRAMMES will include exhibitions, conferences, films, lectures, meetings, seminars, performance, drama, dance and song...
IMPACT in time must be global. Coexist House aspires to establish a place of greater understanding of religious practice through a more profound level of education surrounding the world’s faiths. It will identify and establish a template, a Coexist House to be established in cities worldwide.
