Dr. Aaron Rosen is the Lecturer in Sacred Traditions & the Arts at King’s College London. He taught previously at Yale, Oxford, and Columbia Universities, after receiving his PhD from the University of Cambridge and serving as a visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley. He has lectured at universities and museums across the world, and served as a Visiting Professor at University College Utrecht. He has written widely for scholarly and popular publications, including The Observer, The Guardian, The Los Angeles Times, Apollo, and Times Higher Education. He has been featured in The Times, Time Magazine, The Independent, The New York Times, and on BBC Radio. He is the author of Imagining Jewish Art (Legenda, 2009) and Art and Religion in the 21st Century (Thames & Hudson, 2015), named one of the best books of 2015 by The Times. He is the editor of Religion and Art in the Heart of Modern Manhattan (Ashgate, 2015) and co-editor of Visualising a Sacred City: London, Art and Religion (I.B. Tauris, forthcoming). Dr. Rosen also curates exhibitions, including a series of exhibitions at the Jewish Museum in London (2015). Co-Curator Terry Duffy is an international artist with a reputation for unique and challenging work. He has exhibited in London, Paris, Berlin, New York, Venice, Cape Town and many more places. In addition to the worldwide exhibition of ‘Victim, no resurrection’, Duffy’s other major projects include MONUMENTS. In 2008 his MONUMENTS project was installed in the vast disused Martins Bank building during the Liverpool Biennial and sponsored by Barclays Bank; in 2009 it was installed in the magnificent Palazzo Contarini during the Venice Biennale sponsored by Sotheby’s and promoted by the British Council; in 2012 it was installed in the vaults of the Brunswick Centre Bloomsbury London and opened by Her Highness the Duchess of Bedford. Recent projects include working with Platform7 on ‘Silent Cacophony’ and other developing projects with Camden Council London. Earlier in his career he worked with Joseph Beuys, John Cage and has received major awards and international media coverage including in depth coverage on BBC World News. In the 90s he was the British Council Fellow of Fine Art in Budapest. Public Relations Coordinator Karen Roach has extensive experience work in the private sector, as well as serving as a church administrator and coordinating fundraising for other charitable organisations. Her volunteer work includes community development in partnership with local churches, rehabilitation for the homeless, and providing counseling. She recently completed a year of mission work in Cape Town, South Africa. Digital Outreach Officer Ruby Guyatt is currently undertaking postgraduate work at the Divinity Faulty at the University of Cambridge, having previously graduated from King’s College London. Her research interests are split between the philosophy of religion, and religion and the arts. Her work in the cultural sector includes time spent at the National Theatre, White Cube, and the King’s Cultural Institute. Inter-faith Coordinator and Website Manager Miriam Lorie manages Public Education projects at the Cambridge Inter-faith Programme, with a particular focus on Coexist House. She studied Theology and Religious Studies at Cambridge, has spent a year studying at an Orthodox Jewish seminary in Jerusalem, and is a graduate of the Susi Bradfield Educators Fellowship at the London School of Jewish Studies. Before joining CIP in 2009, she worked at the Woolf Institute. |
